Born in Talsi, died in Sélestat, France. Painter, graphic artist and book illustrator. Studied at the school of the St Petersburg Imperial Society for the Encouragement of Arts, from 1907 – 1929 lived in Paris, attended Académie Julian, participated in exhibitions in many Salons of Paris as well as abroad (Barcelona, London, New York, Shanghai, Moscow, also Riga (1928). His works are in the collections of Musée Unterlinden de Colmar, Strasbourg Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Latvian National Museum of Art and Talsi District Museum.
