Ventkalni Cup Marked Stone

The most recently discovered cup-marked stone in the region. Size of the stone: length 3.5 metres, width 2.7 metres, height 1.4 metres, girth 9.8 metres. Thousands of years ago 8 cups were formed on the surface of this cup-marked stone. The cups of the Ventkalni Cup-Marked Stone are shallow and hard to notice. The sizes of the cups support the versions that the cups were created in an ancient cult rituals, which were performed by marking the people’s lives – birth or death, because the size of the cups clearly shows that it would be very hard to collect rain water or put some offerings in them.
