Baltic German painter and graphic artist. Graduated from the Workshop of Graphic Art at the Art Academy of Latvia (1929). Author of 102 colour postcards published by the Latvian Telegraph Agency LETA from 1926 – 1929, documenting the cities, castles, castle ruins, ports, bridges and landscapes of Riga, Liepāja, Jelgava and others. The wooden building in Dzirnavu Street 1, Talsi depicted in Wohlfeil’s watercolour, is the former German elementary school (in the 1920-30s) as well as the former home of poet Aleksandrs Pelēcis (1920-1995) and actor Juris Bartkevičs (1950).
