Mērsrags cape (18.0 ha) – the second largest and most expressive cape in Latvia. It is a land protrusion on the western coast of the Gulf of Riga, ~ 2 km north of the village of Mērsrags. The narrow beach and the underwater slope at a depth of 3-12m are covered with stones. About 50 m from the shore is the Devil’s Stone, the narrowed top of which (1.5 m) is visible above the water level. Another stone has a hollow on the side, hence the name Devil’s Foot. According to the legend, the horn of stones arose when the devil was building a bridge over the Riga Gulf. The several kilometers long sandy beach of Mērsrags is ideal both for summer recreation by the sea, swimming, sunbathing or walking along the beach and pine forest, and in autumn and winter for watching the mischief caused by storms and ice piles. Car parking right next to the Mērsrags lighthouse. A footbridge built in 2018 leads from the parking lot to the beach.
