BAŠĶIŅKALNS HILL is a castle mound located on a secluded hill with the height of about 17 m. The castle mound was described by Ernests Brastiņš in 1923, who mentioned that it is the highest hill in the surrounding area and the slopes are artificially processed. There are legends related to the hill about a hole in it, that it has been brought with hats and that a church has sunken in the hill
