A private museum “Saieta Nams” in Mērsrags opened in 2000. The building was built in 1811, and it is the oldest residential building in Mērsrags, which can still be viewed today. In the museum, you can familiarize yourself with the household life in Mērsrags and its surroundings in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Great importance in the museum’s exposition is given to the ancient Latvian written/property and magical signs. Over time, the owner of the museum has collected a large collection of these signs – both on work tools and household items. The museum can be visited by prior application.
