Dundaga – a touch of yesteryear

In te centre of village stands Dundaga Castle. Built in the 13th century, it is the biggest castle in Northern Kurzeme and rich with legends about the Green Maiden and an exhibition on Arvids Blūmentāls, the adventurer and prototype for the main character in the movie ‘Crocodile Dundee’. Dundaga offers tours and adventure. Here invaluable nature treasures are located – Slītere National Park, a special culture-historical heritage, as well as Slītere Lighthouse.
